HARTLY, Del. (AP) - Police in Delaware are investigating a three-vehicle crash in Hartly that sent three people to the hospital.
Police say the crash happened Wednesday at about 4:45 p.m. Police say the incident began when a 66-year-old woman driving her 7-year-old granddaughter in a 2004 Mercedes Benz pulled into the intersection at Pearsons Corner Road and Lockwood Chapel Road. The Mercedes driver, Dover resident Shirley A. Harris, struck a 2012 Kia Rio driving southbound on Pearsons Corner Road.
The Kia, which was being driven by 25-year-old Glenn Outten of Harrington, then hit a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta. Outten, Harris and the driver of the Volkswagen were all taken to the hospital.
Otten is in stable condition. The others have non-life-threatening injuries.
Harris was cited for failure to remain stopped at a stop sign.
