POCOMOKE CITY, Md. - Alvin Fletcher Taylor, 84 of Pocomoke and formerly of Beaver Dam, MD, passed away at Hartley Hall Nursing Home in Pocomoke, Monday, October 22, 2012.Born September 15, 1928, he was a son of the late George F. and Tabitha Watkinson Taylor. He was preceded in death by two wives, Dora Tarr Taylor and Dorothy Webb Wessells Taylor. He was a member of Union United Methodist Church in Greenbackville, VA and was a lifelong farmer.
He is survived by his half-brother, Herbert Groton and his wife Nina ; one cousin Rose and her husband Lester; four step-children, Bonnie M. Trower of Eastville, VA, Patsy M. Bell and her husband Bob of Berlin, Harry L. Wessells and his wife Sue of Atlantic, VA and Henry Wessells and his wife Linda of Salisbury, MD; nine step-grandchildren, Jennifer J. Pruitt, Elaine J. Sharbor, Rebecca J. Lusk, J.E.B. Johnson, Jill Gray, Steve Green, Sarah Wessells, Ian Bailey and James Bailey; and seven step-great grandchildren.
A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Derek Tomek, will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday in the Union United Methodist Church in Greenbackville, where family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service.
