Delaware Names John Sell Top Teacher Of 2013

DOVER, Del. (AP) - The state of Delaware is honoring its top teacher.
    
Sussex Technical School District English teacher John Sell was named the state teacher of the year on Tuesday.
    
Sell was one of 19 finalists for the award. He was announced as the winner by Delaware Gov. Jack Markell during an awards ceremony at the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino.
    
The 43-year-old Sell has been a teacher for more than two decades. He currently teaches 11th and 12th grade English.
    
As the state's teacher of the year Sell will represent teachers to state legislatures and community groups. He will also be the state's representative in a national competition.
