Sussex Technical School District English teacher John Sell was named the state teacher of the year on Tuesday.
Sell was one of 19 finalists for the award. He was announced as the winner by Delaware Gov. Jack Markell during an awards ceremony at the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino.
