Almost 17 Hundred Bags Of Heroin Seized In Worcester County

BISHOPVILLE, Md. - It is being called the largest heroin seizure in Worcester County history. Almost 17 hundred bags of heroin are prevented from hitting the streets.

Worcester County Sheriffs along with several county police departments lead an investigation on 38 year old Leck Lyons of Ocean Pines. He was later identified as a local heroin source.

Lyons was stopped at a traffic light along with 27 year old Jayna Lynn Griffith. They were stopped at the intersection of Worcester Highway and Bishopville Road in Bishopville.

In the vehicle, police seized 1,678 individually wrapped bags of heroin, along with over 2 thousand dollars cash.

He's being held at the Worcester county jail on a $100,000 bond, Griffith is being held at the Worcester County Jail as well on $50, 000.
