EASTON, Md. - A local police department got an interesting call on Thursday, that lead to taking a slithery suspect into custody. Easton Police got a call about a snake, sun bathing, on the bridge on the Rails to Trails bridge.
A few brave officers volunteered to go look for it. When they arrived they looked around, and finally located the 4-foot-long ball python. They think that it was between 5 and 6-years-old. Police believe that the animal was a pet that someone released into the wild. They don't think the snake would have survived much longer had it not been found.
A local veterinarian has agreed to take in and care for the snake. Lt. Hrobar, of Easton PD, is pictured to the right, holding the snake.
