SUSSEX CO., Del. - Sussex Co. officials confirm that Eric Bodenweiser (R) officially withdraws from the 19th State Senate District. Officials say that on Wednesday morning, Bodenweiser signed a legal document with the Sussex County Department of Elections.

WMDT has been told that Bodenweiser is asking his supporters to remove his yard signs and is asking all of his supporters to officially support write-in candidate, and former Georgetown mayor, Brian Pettyjohn.

The Department of Elections says that Bodenweiser's name will be removed from absentee ballots and voters will receive new ballots.

Bodenweiser suspended his campaign last Friday, Oct. 12th. Pettyjohn added his name into the contest on Oct. 1st.
