DELMAR, Del. - Well, it's that time of year again! Tis' the season to be scared...
If you're looking for a haunted house to visit, we may have just the place for you.
For the second year in a row, Nightmare's Haunted house in Delmar, Delaware invited WMDT's Emily Lampa to take their terrifying tour, but last year she want all alone. This year, she took along a support team; her husband, Nick, WMDT photographer, Dan Sperling, and reporter, Jarred Hill.
Sperling admits after going through the haunted warehouse, "It was a big relief coming out of there. It was really scary."
Emily's husband and Jarred Hill agree. "Definitely a lot of fun," said Nick. "A lot of different things...A lot of obstacles."
"It was good," said Hill. "It was all good!"
If you have the courage to visit this haunted house, know that all the proceeds go to charity. The actor who plays the "Butcher of Delmarva" tells WMDT all the folks who work the haunted house are volunteers, "It gives you such a great feeling that you're giving back to the community and the people that really need our support."
Nightmare's Haunted House is located on the northbound side of Route 13, just north of the state line, across from the Delaware International Speedway.
It's open every Friday and Saturday in October and the 29th, 30th, and 31st. Tours start at 7:30pm and they say doors close when the screaming stops.
All they ask is for a 13 dollar donation to get in. But if you bring a canned good, you score a 2 dollar discount. The food donations go to the Feed-A-Friend campaign. All the profits from Nightmare's Haunted House benefit the American Cancer Society, Boys & Girls Club of Western Sussex, the Delmar Fire Department in 2012, and the Connections Community Support Programs.
