POCOMOKE CITY, Md. - Malachi Jordan Singleton of Pocomoke City died on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore following an 8 year struggle with severe health issues. Born Saturday, May 15, 2004 in Baltimore City, he is the son of Melissa Toledo of Pocomoke City and Michael Singleton of Princess Anne. Although his life was short, he touched many lives as a student at Cedar Chapel School in Snow Hill and throughout the Pocomoke community. He loved Mickey Mouse and Sponge Bob and was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan.
In addition to his mother and father he is survived by grandmothers, Beverly Reed of Pocomoke City and Thelma Singleton of Philadelphia; three brothers, Michael Duane Singleton, Jr. of Accomac, Deangelo Lamonte Collins of Salisbury and Miles Hickmand of Pocomoke City; three sisters, Johnniece Beverly Johnson of Pocomoke City, Myisha Williams of Arkansas and Kysha Nita Singleton of Pocomoke City and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Taina Renae Butler and both grandfathers, Jose Toledo and Melvin Jordan, Sr.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Holloway Funeral Home in Pocomoke City, where family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service. Cremation will follow and he will be placed next to his sister in Salem Methodist Cemetery in Pocomoke City at a later date.
