LAUREL, Del. - A Laurel house fire is being investigated, after officials discovered that it was intentionally set. The fire started around 2:40 AM on Tuesday morning, at a home on West Sixth Street.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office says that the family was home at the time of the fire, but no injuries were reported. Officials say that the home did have working smoke detectors. Damages are estimated at $1,000.
The Fire Marshal's investigation showed that the fire was started on purpose, and they are asking anyone with information on the incident to call the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office at 302-856-5600 or Crime Stopper at 1-800-TIP-3333.
