DE Amazon Distribution Center Now Open

MIDDLETOWN, Del.-  On Wednesday the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Middletown, Del. shipped its first package.

Approximately 330 people have begun work at the Fulfillment Center in Middletown. During the next several weeks, Amazon expects to hire more as the holiday retail season kicks into high gear.

The fulfillment center  broke ground in February 2012 and began hiring in the summer. The building has 1.2 million square feet of floor space and ships packages that range from children's toys to home improvement materials and electronics.
