Wicomico Dems, GOP Cold Call Before VP Debates

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - With 26 days until Election Day and just eight days after the first presidential debate, representatives from the Democratic and Republican party are picking up the phones.

"I'm a volunteer for Obama for America," said a volunteer for the Wicomico County Democrats to a perspective voter.

"Are you voting for Mitt Romney?" asked Vickay Keyes, a volunteer for the Wicomico County Republicans, to a perspective voter.

Workers cold-calling before the V-P debate asked perspective voters who they're voting for. While reaching out to locals, workers continue to show confidence in who they believe is best fit to lead the country.

"Obama was kind of cool, kind of calm, kind of collected and very nice and Romney came out like a prize fighter and a liar," said Trudy Anderson, chair for the Wicomico County Democrats.

"There policies on the war, in Iraq there policies on America in general and this economy are going to turn out better if Mitt Romney becomes our next president," said Keyes.

Local volunteers will continue this effort through election day and will be out at polls in a final push for votes. There are two more presidential debates left.

The next one is this coming Tuesday, October 16th.  The final debate is on the 22nd.
