Out Of Darkness Walk Raises More Than $17,000

OCEAN CITY, Md. - The first Out of the Darkness Community Walk in Ocean City has raised more than $17,000 and counting.

Approximately 200 people participated in the event to raise awareness about suicide prevention and mental illness. The outreach and fundraising effort supports the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the leading national nonprofit exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy.

The organization reaches out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide.
