SALISBURY, Md., - Every week, WMDT will feature someone participating in the Walk To End Alzheimer's on October 27th.
This week, we caught up with an organizer, who says they've already raised about $30,000. This year, they're honoring former UMES President, Dr. William Hytche, who died in 2007 from this incurable disease.
"He was President of UMES for 21 years and its kind of a tradition we're developing now, to highlight someone from the community, just to show that Alzheimer's can effect anyone," said Damian Magarelli, Development Manager for the event.
Registration starts at 9 a.m., and the walk is at 10. While you're there, be sure to say hello to our very own Alyana Gomez. She'll be emceeing the event, held at the Salisbury/Wicomico Senior Center.
