Seeking A "Litter-Free" Delaware

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del. - If you missed this year's Coastal Clean-up, another day dedicated to tidying up Delaware roads is coming up.

DelDOT's 8th annual "Imagine a Litter-Free Delaware" is Saturday October 20th. Each year, at least 800 volunteers collect more than 100,000 bags of trash. Officials say those who take part, take away something from the event. "They are more aware of not throwing out the trash, you know, bagging the trash in their cars and they often will follow up by adopting a highway themselves so they can look after it all year long," says Jim Westoff, DelDot Spokesperson.

There's still time to register, just call 302-760-2080.
