Posted: Updated:

CAMDEN, Del. - A crash is under investigation in Camden, after a school bus apparently drove into a home.

Police have identified the driver of the school bus to be Willie Warren of Camden. Camden Police say that around 7:35 AM on Wednesday morning a school bus, loaded with approximately 40 children, in route to Fred Fifer III Middle School, crashed into a South Main Street home. Police say that the bus drifted across a lane of traffic, sideswiped a utility pole, hit a tree, and finally stopping once it hit the house.

A fireman who witnessed the crash reportedly told officials that the driver appeared to be in medical distress. He pulled the driver out, and started CPR. The driver was rushed to Kent General Hospital by EMS, where he later died. The cause of death is being investigated by the Delaware Medical Examiner's Office. The drivers name is being withheld at this time.

Three children were reportedly taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The rest of the students on the bus were transferred to another bus, and taken to school.

Police say that the crash is still being investigated, but that no charges are expected to be filed in the incident. South Main Street remains closed at this time, while a utility company replaces the damaged pole.
