New Health Pavilion In Sussex Looks Promising For Growth In Area

MILLSBORO, Del. - Peninsula Regional Medical Center breaks ground for the Delmarva Health Pavilion, bringing primary care to the town of Millsboro.

"This is going to be a big thing. It's a Godsend," Mayor Bob Bryan said.

"We're looking at a variety of different options, particularly in primary care, children's services, rehab services, perhaps orthopedics," President and CEO of PRMC Dr. Peggy Naleppa said.

The pavilion is expected to service 100,000 people in southern Delaware, add 100 new jobs and spur economic growth. "There are so many unemployed people and we need jobs. With the real estate slump that we've experienced, when people or retirees are looking for a place, we can say, in our town, we have PRMC right here," Mayor Bryan said.

He says he's confident it will attract other businesses. "This is going to be a big facility out here. We already have a lot of businesses, but there's a lot of land left. I can look over here at this big field and I can see a grocery store, a restaurant. It's going to happen now, and this is going to be the start of it," he said.

Delmarva Health Pavilion is expected to open in Spring 2013. This is a medical and professional office building - anyone interested in leasing out a space should call the developers at 410-543-2440.
