Route 50 Re-Opened in Cambridge After One Vehicle Accident

CAMBRIDGE, Md. - Charges are reportedly pending in connection with single car accident in Cambridge.

Maryland State Police say that on Monday morning around 7:30 AM, Nekia Mourning was driving a GMC Envoy West on Route 50. As she was crossing the Malkus Bridge, she reportedly veered left hitting the barrier, then the SUV flipped on it side, crossed both lanes of traffic and hit the barrier on the other side of the road.

EMS had to free Mourning from the Envoy. She was taken to Shock Trauma for non life threatening injuries.

Traffic in both directions on the bridge, was shut down for around 2 hours while the scene was investigated and cleared. Police say that charges are pending.
