SALISBURY, Md. - There were some unusual sounds coming from Saint Peter's Church in Salisbury.
Father Todd Kissam led pet owners and their feline and canine companions in a "Blessing Of The Animals." He read aloud to the animals a "Prayer for my Pet" as dogs barked and wagged their tails in approval. As Father Kissam tells us, it's a fun, whole hearted way to bring people together.
"We haven't had anything very exotic, yet let's say, but mostly dogs. It's fun to bring people together in a different setting at church," said Father Todd Kissam.
This happens every year here and across the country. We're told the tradition dates back centuries.
