WMDT 47 NEWS - These days almost everyone has access to the online social media tool Facebook, but how can you protect your children from the dangers and open access of the internet? Delaware Senator Tom Carper wants to help inform both students and parents. He has organized an online safety night where officials from Facebook will be on hand to answer your questions. Attendees will learn about their role as digital citizens: how to better secure their Facebook profile, how to report misuse of the social media platform, and other online safety tools. Officials say there will also be an opportunity to ask questions to Facebook officials.
School District officials say parents in the District will receive an automated phone message with information on the program, but say it is open to the public.
The event will be Tuesday October 9 in the Sussex Central High School Auditorium from 6-7PM.
