Community College Gets $1M Grant From Homeland Security

Posted: Updated:

FREDERICK, Md. - Frederick Community College says it has received a $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

The grant, to be used over a three-year period, will be used by the school to develop an online, nationwide course for first responders.

Called the Complex Attacks Situational Awareness Response course, the program will help first responders prepare for a variety of potential natural and man-made threats. The News-Post in Frederick (http://bit.ly/RaVQiL) reports it will be offered to 1,000 emergency management professionals at local, state and national levels.
