"Just Zoo It!" Gets Kids Involved In Salisbury Zoo's Makeover - WMDT 47 News - Delmarva's Choice

WICOMICO Co., Md. - This Halloween, kids in your neighborhood may be collecting more than just candy.

The Delmarva Zoological Society's "Just Zoo It" program is back again this year. Children will be getting collection cans to fill when they trick-or-treat. The money will go towards the new Australian Exhibit coming to the Salisbury Zoo this fall. Each kid who takes part will get a gift card from Outback Steakhouse in Salisbury.

"It's a tremendous opportunity to get the children of the area involved with helping the future of the zoo. Last year, they were able to raise about $32,000 just in coins. It was a tremendous success, and hopefully we can repeat that," Zoo Director Joel Hamilton said.

Collection cans will be handed out to students in Wicomico County.
