Wicomico Public Library's "College Week" Program

SALISBURY, Md. - A local library is hosting a week long event for future college students. The Wicomico Public Library is holding events all week, starting Monday October 1st, to answer questions and give information to students about college.

The Delmarva Education Foundation will be at the Main Branch all week, along with representatives from Wor-Wic Community College, Salisbury University, and University of Maryland Eastern Shore hosting both student and parent workshops.

After a week of workshops, College Week wraps up with a mini college fair on Friday, October 5th. The fair will be held at the Centre at Salisbury, near Boscov's, where students can speak to counselors, ask questions, and get information about local colleges. Below is a schedule of events for the week.

Monday, October 1st, 3:30p, Main Library, Room 1 - Types of Colleges -The Basics: An overview of the college selection process for teens and parents (registration required)
 
Tuesday, October 2nd, 3:30p, Main Library, Room 1 - Financial Aid 101 -What you need to know about financial aid (registration required)
 
Wednesday, October 3rd, 3:30p, Main Library, Room 1 - Admissions -Things you should know about college applications, different strategies to make your college application stand out (registration required)
 
Thursday, October 4th, 3:30p, Main Library, Room 1 - Making College Work for You -Building a resume in college; panel discussion (registration required)
 
Friday, October 5th, 4-6p, Centre Branch and by Boscov's - College Fair -Meet Admissions Counselors from local colleges and obtain information about their schools
