SNOW HILL, Md. - Ronald Howard Bounds, 75, of Snow Hill, passed away on Friday, September 28th, 2012 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Howard Lee Bounds and Alice Elizabeth Culver Bounds Andrews. He worked for 37 years, beginning as a lineman for C & P Telephone Company and retiring as an engineer for Verizon in 1992. He served in the National Guard, was a past member of Snow Hill Rotary Club, was an active member of A.M.S.A. for many years, was a member of the Snow Hill CB Association and the Red Men's Lodge in Fruitland. One of his favorite interests was playing drums for the Highlighters and Star Duster's Bands.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Janice Lee Emory Bounds; 3 daughters, Christine B. Powell and her husband, William of Snow Hill, Paula J. Wimbrow and her husband, Edwin of Snow Hill and Valerie L. Bounds of Salisbury; a son, Danny Bounds and his wife, Lori of Snow Hill; 8 grandchildren, Kevin & Jeffrey Powell, April Blevins, Jordan Van Auken, Alex Bounds, Rachel Bounds, Jennifer Jenkins and Trevor Brooks; 4 great grandchildren, Dariayn Jenkins, Ryan Blevins, Rusty Blevins and Tre' Brooks; a niece, Susan Stokes and her husband, Bernie of Sharptown; and many cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alan Lee Bounds.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 30th, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Olivet Cemetery in Eden. Rev. Andrew M. Frick will officiate. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Snow Hill Fire Company and or Whatcoat United Methodist Church in Snow Hill.
