DAGSBORO, Del. - Funeral arrangements for Justin Townsend, the Dagsboro Junior Firefighter killed in a tragic accident are scheduled for next week.
A procession will lead from Indian River High
School to Junior Firefighter Townsend's final resting place on Saturday, October 6th and a reception will
follow at the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Department.
The
public is invited to attend these events, and is encouraged to line the
procession route, to pay final respects to Junior Firefighter Townsend, who was
tragically lost in a motor vehicle crash while responding to an alarm on
Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012. His passing is the first line-of-duty death for the
Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Department in its 69-year history.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in
Justin's honor be made to the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Department.
Details
for participating fire companies and personnel will be released as final
arrangements are set.

Townsend will be interred at Redman's Cemetery, on
Iron Branch Road, in Dagsboro.
