PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - As Governor O'Malley declared today as a Day Of Service, one Princess Anne organization thanks their town for all of their recent help.
Over 200 people showed up to the Service And Appreciate Day, which was hosted by G.R.A.S.P (or Generating Realistic Achievement Success and Possibilities).
With the help of the Maryland Food Bank, the group gave out 5000 pounds of produce to locals who showed up to the Manokin River Park.
They thanked their local school board, town hall and others for helping revitalize their park.
"We had a day of appreciation for all of the residents in Princess Anne and Somerset Co.," said Clifton Harcum, co-founder of G.R.A.S.P. "We wanted to acknowledge everyone's hard work."
Phillip Thomas, a co-founder of the group added, "We saw a need, we saw that we had a park in Princess Anne that was under used and figured we'd put a project together."
The group also says this is only the second phase of their Park Revitalization, which they did in hopes to have more people come out and use the facilities.
