NASCAR Driver Racing To Support Military

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del. - A rookie driver is showing off his support for the military with a camo paint scheme.  Jason Bowles and his team decided to support this cause, painting the colors of every branch of the military.

"Everybody knows how much support our military needs and when they come back here as a vet or if they've been injured, they really need that whole support from our whole country behind them," said Bowles, No. 81 in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

This movement, sponsored by the Support Military Foundation, is called "Behind The Camo."

It was created as a social networking site for supporters of every branch of the military.

"It's tying all [of the branches] together so that when you say, 'I support the military,' you're not just saying [you] support the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard: you're saying 'I support all of it,'" said Steven West, an active chaplain for the United States Air Forces.

Organizers say anyone interested in supporting the cause can head over to their website at SupportMilitary.org.  Hats, shirts, ribbon stickers and other accessories are for sale and all proceeds will go to the Support Military Organization.
