Serial Swinddler Sentenced In Wicomico County

WICOMICO CO. Md. - A man convicted of defrauding residents of one local county has been sentenced.

On Friday morning, a judge sentenced Gary Hurwitz to 33 years in the custody of the division of corrections. Hurwitz was sentenced after he violated probation by not paying restitution of $41,000 to his victims.

Police say that in one case Hurwitz told victims that he had a way to buy repossessed ATVs, he sold seven and never delivered. In two other cases, he sold three cars, that he didn't own, to people. The cases happened in 2004 and 2005 in Wicomico County.
