Giant Food's Weekend Food Drive For Hunger Action Month

SALISBURY, Md. - Giant Food is once again feeding those in need.

This month is hunger action month, and to go out with a bang, they're asking everyone to donate non perishable food items as well as personal care items. All stores are participating in the food drive all weekend long starting Friday. Officials say they see a real need, especially in our local community.

"It's really important if everyone can come out and donate this month. All the food goes to local charities here, Maryland Food Bank, and the Delaware stores collecting goes to the Delaware Food Bank," said Mark Rhodes, Store Manager of the Giant Food in Salisbury, Maryland.

Last year, Giant donated hundreds of thousands of pounds of food to the Mid-Atlantic Region.
