UPDATE: Salisbury Southside Pump Station Overflow

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - We're learning more about the Southside Pump Station overflow.

Today, Salisbury Public Works announced, it was actually 41,780 gallons of untreated wastewater that was dumped into the Wicomico River Tuesday, not the original estimated 100,000 gallons announced yesterday.

Mayor Ireton tells us that swimming and fishing is still prohibited in the areas of  Ridge Road and Terrie Court until further notice, hoping to give the "all clear" in about a  week.

Some of the debris jammed in the pump included baby wipes, clothing, ropes, wires, and belts.
