SEAFORD, Del. - A large early morning fire is still under investigation. It happened Wednesday on Harrington Street in Seaford. Flames ripped through the storage building around 4:30 a.m.
It took three hours and seven fire departments from both Maryland and Delaware to put out the blaze. Officials say a lot of the time spent was maintaining surrounding buildings.
"We had some issues we wanted to deal with, which would be the surrounding structures, and there's a natural gas gate yard just to the east of here and of course there's a rail yard over here and we didn't know what was involved in that," said Ron Marvel, PIO for Seaford Fire Department.
Thankfully there were no injuries, but there was about $200,000 in damages. The Fire Marshal has not released a cause yet. Stay tuned to WMDT and WMDT.com for the latest.
