LANDOVER, Md. - Another company is recalling their peanut butter. Earlier this week, we told you about Trader Joe's recalling their peanut butter, now Sunland Inc., has also announced a recall on their peanut butter. Both recalls are due to possible salmonella contamination.
The following products, with best if used by dates between May 1, 2013 and September 24, 2013 are included in this recall:
- Sunland Banana Peanut Butter Spread, UPC 04868760906, 16 oz.
- Sunland Raspberry Peanut Butter Spread, UPC 04868761906, 16 oz.
The products were available at Giant Foods. Customers should throw them away, and bring their receipts back to Giant to get a full refund.
Sunland Inc, has expanded its voluntary recall to include its almond butter, cashew butter, tahini and roasted blanched peanut products as well. The products have a manufactured date between May 1, 2012 and September 24, 2012.
Officials say that the recall was done, after 29 people were reported to have Salmonella Bredeney PFGE matching illnesses, in 18 states, including Maryland and Virginia. For more information on the recall visit Sunland's website.
