DELMAR, Del. - Lois Neill Wood, 84, of Delmar, slipped peacefully into the presence of her Lord on Thursday, September 20. At her side, holding her hand was her devoted husband of 63 years, A. Frank Wood. The Wood's left North Carolina in 1958 moving to Salisbury where Frank began a 30-year association with Perdue, Inc.. Since 1961, they have lived in Delmar. Lois was a devoted Christian who belonged to the Church of the Nazarene. Over the years she taught Junior Girls in Sunday School, was president of the Nazarene World Missions Society, and was a Group Bible Study leader for new Christians. She loved gardening and keeping her home. She was friendly, gracious and kind. For six years, Lois was a Mary Kay beauty consultant. She enjoyed being a business woman, meeting interesting people and serving her clients.
The love of her life was her family. She is survived by her husband, A. Frank Wood and her children: Gerry Wood, Mary Anne (Wayne) Murschell, Phillip (Jacalyn) Wood, and Randy (Barbara) Wood. She leaves 8 grandchildren: Janelle Ferlita, Doug Gordon, Wayne Murschell, Jr., Misty Pistone, Matthew Murschell, Jordan Richardson, Miranda Wood and Jenna Wood, and 5 great-grandchildren. She was blessed with wonderful brothers and sisters, Ralph (Marie) Neill, Allene Little, Rachel (Tommy) Gregson, and Donald (Jo) Neill and her brother-in-law, Frederick Britt. She was preceded in death by her son, Danny Wood and by her sisters Myrtle Bowen and Sybil Britt.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene on Nanticoke Rd in Salisbury. A visitation will be held on Monday from 10 until 11am and on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 6 until 8 PM at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Memorial donations may be made to the Blood Bank of Delmarva or the Nazarene World Missionary Society.
