Group Hosts Local Day Of Peace

SALISBURY, Md. - A local group with people from different religious backgrounds hosted a peaceful celebration in the park.         

Peace in the Park is a 4-year event that corresponds with the yearly UN International Day of Peace.  Families came together to listen to live music and learn about local charities and religions.  The theme was Peace In Our Community Peace In Our World.

"We're focusing on the community, what's available in the community to make our life a little better," said event coordinator Lou Rimbach.

"You have to respect people believing that there is a more peaceful way to deal with any problem or conflict that we have in the world or here at home," said Mayor Jim Ireton.    

A Peace Walk also took place throughout the day.
