WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. - Early Friday morning NASA successfully launched a rocket.
Last week we told you about two rockets that NASA had scheduled to take off this weekend from Wallops Flight Facility. The first one is done, and the second, is scheduled for Saturday between 7 and 10 AM.
Friday's rocket contained experiments from college students. It launched around 7:15 AM, and reached an altitude of 95.4 miles. It came down and landed in the Atlantic Ocean, where it was later recovered.
Saturday's rocket is a test flight, for some equipment that will be used in high altitude science research. The visitors center will be open at 6 AM if you want to check it out.
