SALISBURY, Md. - The MVA is taking steps to
make the roads safer for bikes with a new campaign that will remind drivers to
leave at least three feet when passing cyclists. Salisbury has been making an effort to make
way for bikes alongside motorist like designating bike lanes, a step many
bikers appreciate.
One cyclist said "we are
at a disadvantage. So, cars have to
yield to pedestrians, bicycles, and motorcycles in that order."
Governor Martin O'Malley says he would like to see zero bike
deaths in Maryland now that more and more people are riding bikes more often.
