MARYLAND - If you are planning on traveling across the bridge today, be aware of current wind restrictions and possibilities of delays.
Authorities say that because of the wind, the following types of vehicles are currently not allowed to cross: horse trailers, empty box trucks or trailers, motor homes, campers, hitch trailers with sizes or a load that tends to restrict wind. They say that any other vehicle that officials think may not make it across the bridge safely will also be stopped from crossing.
Officials are also saying that there won't be two-way operations today either. Usually one lane of Eastbound traffic is directed to the Westbound span of the bridge, but because of the weather that will be suspended.
Officials say that drivers should expect delays. If you are heading that way you can call 1-877-BAYSPAN (229-7726) for the latest conditions and restrictions.
