SALISBURY, Md. - A local business is under major renovations after storms damaged a huge portion of restaurant.
Officials at the Market Street Inn in Salisbury are adding new carpets, baseboards and flooring so that the entire restaurant can be sanitized. They added that heavy rains flooded the restaurant up to an inch and a half over two weeks ago. This isn't the first time the restaurant was forced to renovation because of storms.
"In 2003, we had Hurricane Isabel, which actually did more damage than this and flooded the entire thing and we did a major renovation," said Rob Mulford, owner of Market Street Inn. "So this is really a bad dream reliving, seeing all the parts that got done in 2003."
The restaurant is open, but owner Rob Mulford admitted they are turning away customers because of the lack of space. He also said that the outdoor deck needed repairs.
