MILTON, Del. - It looks like the Milton Theatre could get a second chance at life. Lenders foreclosed on a $1 million mortgage for the downtown theatre back in 2010.
Since then, it's been sitting vacant and supporters want to see it open its doors. Officials say they finally got a projected figure to get it back up and running, now all they need to know is if it's feasible.
"Our objective right now is to go to the market, go to our friends, our supporters in the past and our supporters that maybe we don't even know we have, and see if we can raise $300,000 for the purchase price and $75,000 for cleanup, fix up, etc.," said John Chirtea, Board Member for the Milton Theatre.
The board is hoping supporters will sign a pledge to donate money. After about 30 days, they should have a better idea if they can go through with the purchase. For information about how to donate, call 302-684-3400.
