OCEAN CITY, Md. - If you can't wait to get the inside scoop on "Ping Pong Summer", we have it straight from the stars of the movie.
WMDT caught up with the three main kids stars in the film.
"Someone told me there's a movie filming in your town, you should try out for it and nothing ever happens like that here," said Emmi Shockley, female lead.
Actor Andy Riddle added that "we've played ping pong and it's a blast and everyone in the cast and crew is awesome."
"It's kind of like a 'Karate Kid' thing, but with ping pong and it's a comedy and I'm the bad guy that the main kid goes up against," said actor Joseph McCaughtry.
They held a kick-off party for the movie production in Ocean City at Hooper's Restaurant. A producer with the movie shared the premise of the film, why it's being held in Ocean City and how it came together.
"A family goes on vacation in Ocean City and Michael [Tully]'s been working on this script for 20 years, " said producer Michael Gottwald. "It's based on his experiences living in Mt. Aire and coming to Ocean City in the summer with his family."
The movie, which begins filming next week, stars Susan Sarandon, John Hannah, Amy Sedaris, Emmi Shockley, Joseph McCaughtry and Andy Riddle.
