SALISBURY, Md. - With families still struggling in a tough economy, one local organization takes a step to help reduce the costs of high quality clothing.
Coastal Kids Consignment hosted a discount shopping event for local residents this weekend. more than 150 families showed up to shop for more than $16,000. Organizers said that 65 percent of their inventory was sold and a portion of what's left will go to charity.
"I walked in off the street as a regular shopper and realized that this was a great opportunity for me because not only could I sell my items but also volunteer," said Misty Stevenson. "If you volunteer you get to shop early so you're getting first dibs on [clothes from] Gap, Old Navy and OshKosh."
If you missed this event, organizers said not to worry. The next one takes place September 27th at the old Harley Davidson shop in Berlin.
