Man Accused of Trying to Strike Trooper With Car

DOVER, Del. - Delaware State Police have arrested a man they say tried to hit a trooper with a car.
 
Twenty-nine-year-old Allen Gantt Jr. of Dover was arrested in Dorchester County and Maryland turned over to Delaware authorities on Friday. He is charged with reckless endangering and numerous traffic offenses.
 
Troopers say on Sept. 2, officers made a routine traffic stop on Gantt, but he sped away as police approached his car, nearly striking one of the officers.
