SALISBURY, Md. - Wicomico Library's Food For Fines program is coming to a close.
Officials say 600 pounds of food was donated. All of it goes directly to the Joseph House.
For each item donated, $1.00 is taken off of your library bill. Officials said a number of people showed up looking to get rid their fines.
"They had returned all of their books, but they couldn't access any books, couldn't go on to use the computers, the databases," said Andrea Berstler, Director of Wicomico Library. "They're taking this time to donate food back into the community."
If you're still looking to pay off fines, tomorrow is the last day to donate food.
