OCEAN CITY, Md. - For the first time in a long time, Mayor Rick Meehan won't be running unopposed. His challenger, Ocean City Native and businessmen, Nick Campagnoli. He tells WMDT that his ultimate goal is to cut taxes. He says the town is spending too much money on things like advertising, and is making it hard on the businesses.
"I'm not real convinced that we have to spend money to advertise. I go around asking people why they come to Ocean city, nobody says its because I heard your advertisement. Today, they said because I came here when I was a kid," said Campagnoli.
We reached out to Mayor Rick Meehan but our calls haven't been returned. Elections in Ocean City are on October 6th, the same day as the national elections.
