Delaware State Police say the incident occurred around 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday. Jerry Mitchell was driving a pickup truck southbound on Little Hill Road approaching Whaleys Road, authorities said. Police say for unknown reasons, the vehicle went into a ditch on the side of the road and hit a telephone pole on the driver's side.
