The 2012 Presidential election is only 62 days away. Are you as excited this year as you were last year? For some, the answer is "no."
But with the conventions underway, election officials hope things will turn around
"It has been a little slower to get started, but since the republican convention WOW things have picked up," said Trudy Anderson, Chairwoman of the Wicomico County Democratic Central Committee.
After a night of invigorating speeches at the DNC, Salisbury Mayor Jim Ireton thinks his town got just the kick it needed to get involved.
"In Maryland, there were over 400 calls for people who were waiting to begin volunteering," said Mayor Ireton.
For some here in Maryland, a focal point of the conventions was Governor Martin O'Malley's speech, but not all the reviews have been positive...
The twitter universe was less than kind with tweets like Democrats had a "Solid to very good first night with exception of O'Malley," but Anderson didn't agree with the mixed feelings.
"Well, I've heard the speech on a local level you know, "Moving Forward." It's just a crowd pleaser. I thought he had the crowd participating and - I was a little surprised that he got mixed reviews."
Party loyalties aside, everyone involved in this year's election wants one thing - for people to get out and vote.
