Troopers Investigate A Serious Crash Involving A Motorcyclist

FELTON, Del. - The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a serious motorcycle crash that occurred on Andrews Lake Road this afternoon.

The incident occurred at 3:15PM Sunday afternoon. Andrew Wilkes was heading eastbound on Andrews Lake Road preparing to turn left onto Winfred Drive. Brian Schilling was approaching the same intersection on a motorcycle. Wilkes began his turn onto Winfred Drive and into the path of the motorcycle, causing him to the strike the front passenger's side the vehicle.

Schilling, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the roadway. He was removed from the scene by EMS and is currently listed in critical but stable condition. Wilkes, who was properly restrained, was not injured in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
