
Hebron, MD- Anna Ennis DeVage 91 of Salisbury, died Friday, August 31, 2012 at Wicomico Nursing Home.
Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Dora Mae Holloway Ennis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Thomas DeVage.
Mrs. DeVage, along with her husband, Thomas founded Martini's Restaurant in 1957. She and her husband worked alongside their son at DeVage's Sub Shop in Salisbury until she retired in 1981. She was a member of Rockawalkin United Methodist Church. She will always be remembered as a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Kay & Jerry Briele, Jim & Trish DeVage and Craig & Delores DeVage all of Salisbury; grandchildren: Jerry (Kim) Briele of New Bern, NC, Robert Briele (Aida) of Coral Gables, FL, Linda Bramble of Salisbury, Trevor (Laura) DeVage of Dallas, TX, Christopher DeVage of New York City, Ryan (Jenn) DeVage of Salisbury, nine great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by a brother Marion (Dru) Ennis of Salisbury; sister-in-laws, Stella Ninfo and Mary Harris of Reading, PA and brother-in-law, Retired Lt. Col. James DeVage of San Antonio, TX and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her wonderful friends and loving caregivers at Wicomico Nursing Home and a special lifelong friend Mrs. Betty Kelly English.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 11 am at Rockawalkin United Methodist Church in Hebron. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Her grandson, Pastor Trevor DeVage will officiate along with Rev. Patty Frick. Interment will be in Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Rockawalkin United Methodist Church, 27004 Crooked Oak Lane, Hebron, MD 21830.
