OCEAN CITY, Md. - A woman was arrested after allegedly lying to police officers about being attacked.
Roxanne Donnelly, of Lancaster, PA, walked into a store in the Tanger Outlets and claimed that she had been attacked in the parking lot, saying that the suspect had physically assaulted her, and took $250 out of her purse.
Officers arrived and as they investigated the incident, they became suspicious of Donnelly's story. Officers checked at Ocean Downs Casino, and found out that Donnelly had just spent $250 there.
When officers confronted her with the information, Donnelly admitted to officers that she made up the story, so that she didn't have to tell her husband that she lost all their money. She was charged with providing a false statement to a police officer.
