SALISBURY, Md. - A 30-year-old Salisbury man has been charged with animal cruelty after allegedly leaving his dog locked in a hot vehicle.
A Deputy arrived at the parking lot of Wor-Wic Community College to find a dog locked inside a vehicle without access to fresh air or water, and in clear distress. The witness who called the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office told the deputy that the dog had been in the vehicle for at least 20 minutes.
Police say that the temperature was 86 degrees when they arrived. While the deputy was trying to assist the dog, the owner, Christopher Littleton, came back. He was arrested, charged with animal cruelty, and later released.
