
Louise Fields LokeySALISBURY, Md. - Louise Fields Lokey, of Salisbury, departed this life on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Wicomico Nursing Home. Born in Showell, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Margie Adkins Lewis. Mrs. Lokey graduated from Buckingham High School in Berlin. She then moved to Salisbury to attend school, where she met and fell in love with Woodland Fields, who soon became her husband. They were married 34 years when God called him home. She had been attending Grace United Methodist Church since 1942. While at Grace Church, she was active teaching Sunday School, working with MYF, served on Ad. Council, Finance Committee, Altar Guild and was a member of the Choir. She worked many years at Benjamin's on the Downtown Plaza before going to work for the City of Salisbury in 1967 as secretary to the Fire Chief until her retirement in 1986. After retirement, she worked part-time for Met Life. In 1994 she married William E. Lokey and started attending Christ United Methodist Church where they were active in the Friendship Class and various other activities.
She is survived by a sister, Eunice McCabe of Berlin; a brother, Ralph Lewis of Selbyville; nieces: Jana Moss of Baltimore, Terry Hokanson of Chicago, IL, Debbie Lokey of Parsonsburg, Sherry Symons of Pine Grove Mills, PA, Bonnie Weiss of Marietta, GA and Barbara Jackson of Salisbury; nephews: Jay McCabe of Baltimore and Ray McCabe of Berlin and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by her second husband, William E. Lokey.
A funeral service will be held Monday, August 27, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Holloway Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury. The Rev. Thomas W. Hurley will officiate. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in to Grace United Methodist Church, 635 E. Church St, Salisbury, MD 21804.
